Mothers Day Insanity.
What is it about mothers day which just pisses me off? Maybe it’s because it’s a day designed by greetings card manufacturers to give them an income between New Years and Easter? Yes, that is annoying, but I think this year there is a much higher irritation…
A friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) has just today had a large phone based argument with her mother, yet still decides to get her a card and present to “keep her happy” siting that it’d be more agro from other relatives if she didn’t send one.
I personally feel, given the level of the abuse recieved from this mother that the present should be something along the lines of “a box full of dog poop” and a card featuring the message…
You’re LIKE a mother to me. BUT NOT!
Granted, cards such as these don’t readily exist but there is always the option of moonpig.com, to give the card that unique flare.
I for one will not be getting my mother anything for Mothers Day, it’s too close to her birthday for me to come up with 2 good ideas for presents (she’s really hard to buy for sometimes). Plus, I’m poorer than a church mouse right now and I still don’t believe in Mothers Day.
